Gio Messale is a seasoned creative executive and producer with over 20 years of experience in the theater-arts and entertainment industry. His work spans television, film, Broadway, streaming, and live events—bringing a sharp eye for storytelling and a deep respect for artistry to every project he touches.

Currently, Gio is the producer of the acclaimed documentary "Body Electric", featuring Leslie Jordan, Judy Gold, and Bruce Vilanch—now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. His recent producing credits include the filmed theatrical recordings of "Yellow Face" starring Daniel Dae Kim, "Purlie Victorious" starring Leslie Odom, Jr., and "Audra McDonald: Live from the London Palladium", which aired nationally on PBS’s Great Performances. He also recently produced the upcoming film capture of the Broadway production of "Suffs", slated for release next year.

Gio was one of the original executives and Head of Content at BroadwayHD, the pioneering streaming platform for filmed theater. While there, he led the production and executive management of over 30 Broadway, Off-Broadway, and West End film recordings. Highlights include Billy Crystal in "Mr. Saturday Night: A New Musical Comedy", the Grammy-nominated "Snapshots", and "She Loves Me"—the first Broadway show ever live-streamed globally in over 80 countries. Other credits include Irving Berlin’s "Holiday Inn: The Broadway Musical", "A Night with Janis Joplin", "Present Laughter" starring Kevin Kline and Cobie Smulders, "Indecent" with Katrina Lenk, and John Patrick Shanley’s "The Portuguese Kid" starring Jason Alexander. Many of these productions have aired on Great Performances on PBS, Prime Video, BroadwayHD, and screened theatrically via Fathom Events, Shochiku Cinema, and other global theatrical partners.

Gio recently held an interim leadership role at Warner Music Group, where he helped shepherd cast recordings for several major stage productions. These included the Tony-winning "Maybe Happy Ending" starring Darren Criss, "Gypsy" starring Audra McDonald, "Real Women Have Curves" by Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez, and the much-anticipated "Next to Normal" West End cast album.

His producing credits also include the music video for King Falcon’s “When the Party is Over,” and two short films for AT&T’s Love is Changing History campaign—"Jenny", directed by Pauley Perrette, and "Tale of Two Dads", directed by Lance Bass.

Earlier in his career, Gio worked in the production department at Paramount Pictures, where he contributed to more than 25 major feature films in various stages of development and production. Projects included "Star Trek" (directed by J.J. Abrams), "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (directed by Steven Spielberg), "Mission: Impossible III", and "Shutter Island" (directed by Martin Scorsese). For his work at Paramount, he was honored with the Viacom Visionary Award in 2005.

Gio is a proud graduate of Queens College, where he earned his degree in Drama, Theater, and Dance.
